Linset’s mechanical laboratory is equipped with an electromechanical dynamometer for applying loads up to 250 kN. Tests are carried out in accordance with the standards specified by the main international regulations (ASTM, ISO, etc.). Samples are prepared using a computer numerical control (CNC) milling machine to achieve the desired geometry.

Measurement of sample deformations can be conducted through various methods:

  • Course of the traverse
  • Optical Videoextensometer
  • Standard video extensometer

The list of tests (not exhaustive) allows for a comprehensive mechanical characterization of the tested component:

  • Tensile properties of plastics, composites and sandwiches
  • Compression properties of plastics, composites and sandwiches
  • Bending properties (3 or 4 points) of plastics, composites and sandwiches
  • Shear properties
  • Interlaminar shear resistance
  • Shear resistance of adhesive joints (single and double lap shear)
  • Determination of Young’s modules
  • Determination of the Poisson modulus
